You may as well be the dirt
on the bottom of my boots!
Kefka has a rather interesting appearance: he's a clown. Well, he looks like one, anyway. Kefka has several distinguishing features. Let's start with his sprite appearance.

Actually, you can't really tell much at all from that picture. He has a green cloak and red clothes, obviously, and red by his eyes, and very light hair. The thing on his head looks a lot like a bow or a feather, but I think it's supposed to be his ponytail... thing.
The Amano art is a different story, though. There are three different pictures of Kefka by Yoshitaka Amano, the FFVI art designer, and none of them look the same. o.o;

The center and the right ones look alike, but the full images (which will eventually be available in the Amano gallery) show that they're actually rather different — red cloak versus green, plus the designs on his clothes.
And then, just to confuse you EVEN MORE, he got another redesign for the FMVs.

This shows his face best, really, and lets you see his mug shot. *coughs thickly* Anyway, the makeup is fully obvious here, especially the lipstick. His clothes are distinctly red and yellow, and he now has a lacy frill. *snickers*
Also, Kefka has two boss forms: the time where you fight him in Narshe and at Doma (same image) and then the awesome final battle version.

The first one has Kefka wearing nothing like his sprite wears, which is just strange, but meh. The "angelic" Kefka has three wings, one of which is demonic, though they may have meant to imply that he has six given you only see one side of 'im. Then again, he has four in the FMV version, shown below.

His skin has also gone from freakish purple to rather distinctive peach. He's also missing his makeup. D:
In conclusion... Square obviously has no idea what the hell Kefka looks like if they keep changing it like this. XD
